Corporate Team Building Barcelona | Sitges & Penedès

FROM SITGES OR BARCELONA.

Most corporate team building in Barcelona follows the same script. Escape room, cooking class, cocktail masterclass, rooftop dinner. There’s nothing wrong with any of those. But if you want your team to actually disconnect from the office, talk to each other properly, and remember the day six months later, it helps to leave the city behind entirely.

Sitges is 35 minutes south of Barcelona by train. The Penedès wine region — 27,000 hectares of vineyards, the source of 95% of Spain’s cava — starts where the town ends. The Garraf Natural Park rises behind it. The Mediterranean sits right in front. We’ve been running outdoor corporate events and team-building days from Sitges for years, for groups ranging from eight to eighty: tech companies, law firms, pharmaceutical teams, creative agencies, incentive travel operators. The format changes depending on what your group needs. The quality doesn’t.

Why get your team out of Barcelona

Barcelona is a world-class city for corporate events. The hotel infrastructure, the airport connections, the restaurants — all exceptional. The problem is that most team building in Barcelona is still urban team building, which means your team is still in the same kind of environment they spend every working day: indoors, at a table, slightly on their phones.

Getting 35 minutes south into the countryside changes the dynamic in a way that’s hard to replicate in the city. On a flat road through the Penedès vineyards, with no traffic and a local guide who knows the winemaker at the next stop, people talk differently. They slow down. They notice things. By the time you’re at a farmhouse table with a proper Catalan lunch in front of you and the afternoon still to go, the team is a team.

There’s also a practical case. Sitges is on the R2 Sud Rodalies commuter line from Barcelona Sants and Passeig de Gràcia — 35 minutes, departures every 30 minutes, no reservation needed. We pick your group up from Sitges station, or directly from your Barcelona hotel on private bookings. You handle the agenda. We handle everything else.

For companies looking for a proper offsite — two, three, or five days — we build full retreat programmes using Sitges as a base. Sitges has a range of hotel options at different price points, a functioning town with good restaurants and a beach, and direct rail access to Barcelona for anyone arriving or departing mid-programme. The Penedès, Priorat, Montserrat, and the Garraf coast are all within an hour’s drive.

A typical two-day programme might run: Day 1, Cycling for Vino followed by a group dinner in Sitges old town. Day 2, Montserrat full day or Driving for Vino, with optional sailing or beach time in the afternoon before returning to Barcelona. For longer programmes, we incorporate the Priorat wine region, multi-day cycling routes along the Vies Verdes in Girona, or rides along the Ebro River to the coast.

We handle all logistics — transport, winery reservations, restaurant bookings and guide coordination. You bring your team. We do the rest.

What makes our corporate events different

The outdoor setting is one differentiator. The other is that we don’t subcontract. Alex and the Easy Cycling Sitges team run every event personally. The guides know the back roads, the cellar owners, and the best table at the masia on a Wednesday. The relationships with the Penedès wineries, the sailing operators, the farmhouse cooks — these are built over years, not sourced through a booking platform.

We stay small on purpose. Open day tours are capped at eight guests per guide. Larger corporate groups are split into parallel smaller groups, each with their own guide. That’s how you maintain the kind of quality that actually generates TripAdvisor reviews like the ones on our reviews page — not just a passable day out.

We run events seven days a week, year-round, with fully customisable itineraries. Every corporate booking gets a dedicated event coordinator and a single point of contact from first enquiry to drop-off.

The Essence of Penedès

⏱ 7+ hours
🍽 3-course Catalan lunch included
🍷 2 boutique wineries, up to 8 tastings
💶 From €890 per group (1–2 guests) / €1,290 (3–5) / €1,590 (6–8)
🚗 Free hotel pick-up from Sitges · 10am start · back by 5pm

This is our flagship Penedès wine tour. You’re picked up at 10 am from your Sitges hotel and driven into the countryside by a trained sommelier who knows both the land and the people making the wine. The day takes in two boutique family wineries — typically one focused on cava, one on still wines — with walks through the vineyards, guided cellar visits, and tastings across up to eight premium wines and cavas.

The middle of the day belongs to lunch: a proper three-course Catalan meal prepared with seasonal, local ingredients and paired with wines from the region. Not a packed lunch at a picnic table — a real sit-down, the kind where you lose an hour and don’t mind.

The tour is 100% private. You won’t share it with other guests. The itinerary can be adjusted around dietary requirements, a preference for natural wines, or a particular interest in the production process. This is the tour to book if wine is the main reason you came to Catalonia.

FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS.

How far is Sitges from Barcelona?

35 km south. By train on the R2 Sud Rodalies line, it’s 35 minutes from Barcelona Sants or Passeig de Gràcia, with departures every 30 minutes. By private coach, around 40 minutes depending on traffic. We arrange direct hotel pick-up from Barcelona on private group bookings.

What group sizes do you work with?

From 8 to 80. Open day tours run in groups of up to eight per guide. For larger groups we run parallel streams or fully private formats. Contact us for groups above 30 to discuss logistics and pricing.

Does everyone need to be able to cycle?

No. The cycling routes are mostly flat and suitable for anyone who can ride a bike at a comfortable pace. For teams with mixed ability or mobility, the Driving for Vino format offers the same winery and food experience without cycling. We always recommend mentioning the group’s fitness range when you enquire — we’ll suggest the right format.

Can you manage the full day including transport and lunch?

Yes — that’s the standard arrangement. We handle pick-up, private transport, winery reservations, guides, and restaurant or farmhouse lunch bookings. You receive a single invoice with VAT for the full programme.

What’s the best season for Barcelona Team Building?

Year-round is honest. Spring (March to May) is beautiful in the vineyards and not yet hot. Harvest (September to October) is the most atmospheric time at the wineries. Summer works with morning departures. Winter is quieter and often produces the most intimate group experiences at the cellars.

How do I get a quote?

Email hola@easycyclingsitges.com or WhatsApp +34 658 02 52 42 with your group size, date, and a rough idea of what you’re after. We turn around detailed quotes within 24 hours. No obligation.

The Art of Wine in Priorat

⏱ 6+ hours (9.30am–6.30pm)
🍽 3-course lunch with wine included
🍷 3 wineries and tastings
💶 From €185 per person
🚗 Free hotel pick-up from Sitges

Priorat is two hours west of Sitges, into the interior of Catalonia. It is remote, dramatic, and produces wines unlike anything else in Spain. The vineyards grow in llicorella — a black slate and mica schist soil that forces vine roots 15 metres deep in search of water, concentrating flavour and adding a mineral quality to the wine that you can taste and smell. The region holds a DOQ (Denominació d’Origen Qualificada), the highest classification in Spanish wine law, shared only with Rioja.

The Art of Wine in Priorat takes you to three wineries: typically a pioneering family estate that was part of the 1990s revival that put the region on the world map, a boutique producer working with old-vine Garnacha and Cariñena, and a century-old cellar where the winemaking approach hasn’t changed much in decades. Your sommelier guides you through the tasting and the story of how Priorat went from forgotten to world-class in a generation.

Lunch is three courses, served at one of the wineries or at a local restaurant, paired with the region’s wines. Return to Sitges by 6.30pm.
